Michelle Ciance Private Chef Services is a diverse and rapidly growing personal chef and in-home chef service company which also offers in home cooking and baking lessons. Chef Ciance has quickly earned her place among the most exciting, up and coming young Chefs in New Jersey.
Michelle is known for her passionate and intense commitment to sustainable and healthy food, incorporating the freshest and most locally sourced product available year-round. Combining her bohemian style into her menu development and cooking, she showcases her out of the box cooking techniques time and time again.
A graduate from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, Ciance embarked on her career as a prep cook for a small catering company in New Jersey, and very soon after landed positions in some of the top kitchens in the state working alongside the best chefs in New Jersey. Her repertoire is expansive and versatile, highlighting her knowledge in not only cooking savory but also butchery, baking, pastry, and bread baking.
Chef Ciance consistently and enthusiastically expands her palette and knowledge by exploring local farmers' markets and open markets abroad. Traveling to and exploring countries such as Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, England, Ireland, Italy, France and the Netherlands, she has broadened her spectrum of cuisine and brings these flavors and cultures to her style and craft.
Her philosophy stands true when picking the freshest in season produce; “eating what is available locally and in peak season is the way it should be”. Michelle also finds it vitally important to support local food, education, and civic organizations. She has an unparalleled dedication to supporting and helping to save our food system, educating children on the importance of fresh foods such as humanely raised meats, locally grown fruits and vegetables.
Chef Ciance has assisted and participated in cooking events to raise money and recognition for the renowned James Beard Foundation in New York City, St. Josephs Children’s Hospital “Cooking for Kids”, The Food Bank of New Jersey, Eva’s Kitchen and an annual Thanksgiving Dinner donation to the Salvation Army feeding upwards of 20,000 people to date.
